Meet Bekah, Senior Talent Partner at Stord!

What did you do before Stord?

Before I joined Stord, I managed a team of recruiters that catered to the software development, quantitative research, and data needs of high frequency trading firms in Chicago and across the US.

Why did you choose Stord?

I chose to join Stord because of the opportunity to impact the growth and strategic direction of our talent and tech teams. 

What do you do at Stord?

I am the Senior Talent Partner that oversees all of Stord’s tech growth! That includes Engineering, Data & Integrations, Network Planning, Product, Design, and IT. My day to day consists of conducting interviews and lots of internal meetings with hiring managers and other internal stakeholders.

What do you like most about your job?

First off, my team is phenomenal and they make work so enjoyable! Other than that, being able to see the impact I make as the organization grows is amazing. Not just by sheer headcount, but by contributing to the talent and people management strategies we take as a business is very rewarding. It’s an aspect that affects every person who comes into this organization. 

Changing careers/jobs is a monumental life event in most people’s lives and I love that I get to contribute to that. I also get the unique experience of seeing someone go from stranger, to candidate, to co-worker! Getting to see the growth of people I’ve onboarded is extremely gratifying as well. I could keep going on and on...

How has Stord changed since you joined? 

Our team specifically has identified a number of areas to continually improve. From approval processes, interview plans, org. structure/design, and so much more. We are a team that is constantly seeking opportunities to better ourselves and how we support the continued growth of Stord.

What excited you most about the year ahead?

Like the rest of Stord, the Talent team is actively growing. I’m excited to help build out an effective talent team to keep up with the growing needs of the organization!

What departments do you collaborate with? What is that like?

I collaborate with the entire People Team (HR, Talent, Culture) as well as any team that deals with tech! Everyone at Stord has been amazing to work with.

What cross-functional projects have you been involved in?

Most of my job involves cross functional projects. I’m currently involved in the growth of every technical team.

What’s your favorite part about the Stord culture?

I’m a completely remote employee, but have never felt left out of Stord’s culture! On top of that, I love the flexibility to have a healthy work/life balance. I can build a work schedule that fits the needs of my life!

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I’m an avid runner, kickboxer, bowler, and soccer player! I also love to read, watch movies, play games, travel, hang out with friends and family, and most importantly play with my Golden Retriever, Aria!
