Stord Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
The Stord Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how Stord, Inc., and its Affiliates (including but not limited to Stord Freight LLC, Stord Warehousing, LLC, Stord Fulfillment LLC, Stord Network LLC, and Stord Parcel LLC) and each of their directors, officers, employees, and authorized representatives (collectively, "Stord") collects, uses, discloses, and applies the information collected when you use or access Stord’s online websites (such as https://stord.com) and Stord products, services, or applications (“Stord Services"). Each of the foregoing U.S. entities adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
By using Stord’s websites, the Stord Services, or interacting with Stord, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Please read the following carefully to understand how Stord collects, uses, and maintains your personal information. In addition, it describes your choices for use, access, and correction of your personal information.
2. Changes to this Notice
Stord may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. In the event Stord makes changes, Stord will notify you by revising the “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. If there are material changes to this Privacy Policy, Stord will attempt to notify you directly by email or provide information via Stord’s home page prior to changes becoming effective. Stord encourages you to review Stord’s Privacy Policy whenever you use Stord Services to stay informed of ways you can protect your privacy. Your continued use of Stord Services following any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of such changes. If you do not agree to the revised Privacy Policy, you must discontinue use of Stord Services.
3. Your Consent
When Stord collects information about you other than through Stord’s websites, Stord will first obtain your affirmative consent to do so, as required by applicable law. However, by using Stord’s websites on which this notice is posted, you agree that this notice governs Stord’s collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information submitted to Stord on or through the websites. If you do not agree to be bound by this notice, you will need to deactivate your account and stop using the Stord Services.
4. Collection & Use of Information.
Stord collects information about you from various sources and methods and may use this information to provide the Stord Services and related functionality to the Stord Services, as described in this Privacy Policy and as permitted by applicable law. You may choose to submit information to Stord via Stord’s website, in connection with the use of Stord’s Services, when you participate in an offer or promotion, or in connection with an actual or potential business relationship with Stord. Stord also may obtain information about you from companies that use Stord’s products or services, publicly available information systems, consumer reporting agencies, and other commercial information services. Below are the types of information Stord may collect:
Registration Information: Stord obtains information to create a profile for you with information such as name, email address, phone, and company name. We use this information to provide the information, products and services you request; and to contact you with surveys and offers based on the privacy preferences you select.
Log Information: Stord retains information about you when you access and use Stord Services. This information can include the following: IP address, timestamps, browser information, Internet Service Provider “ISP”, Web Pages visited, and URL of the Web Page you visited before navigating to Stord. We use this information to enforce Stord’s websites' terms of use and improve the content, functionality and usability of the website.
Usage Information: Stord monitors user activity in connection with Stord Services and may collect information about the applications and features you use, websites you visit, as well as types and amount of Stord Services you use. We use this information to improve Stord services, provide support to you, protect against and prevent fraud, claims and other liabilities; and to manage corporate risk exposure.
Crash or error information: If the Stord Services crash or return an error, Stord may collect data to determine the cause of the error using internal or third-party services. The crash or error information collected may include the following: Device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, application configurations(s), the time and date, and other statistics. We use this information to provide support to you, promote security; to protect against and prevent fraud, claims and other liabilities; and to manage corporate risk exposure.
Contact information: Contact information for colleagues, business partners or other people you would like Stord to contact. By providing contact information for third parties, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all necessary consents and permissions from such individuals to share their information with Stord for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Device Information: Mobile device unique identifier, necessary for the proper functioning of Stord services.
Geo-location data to provide Stord’s customers, carriers, and warehouses with shipment information such as location.
Other information (such as language preference) used for any other purpose for which Stord provides notice at the time of collection.
Job Applicant Information: Stord obtains information about you when you apply for a job or other role with Stord, which may include personal identifiers, to evaluate your interest in employment and contact you regarding possible employment with Stord.
Financial information: Including financial account information used for payment purposes and/or information that may be contained in a consumer report.
5. Shipment Information
Stord stores information which allows Stord to provide logistics services. Stord obtains information including but not limited to:
Shipment contact information: Including name, postal or email address, and phone or fax number. We use this to provide Stord’s customers, carriers, and warehouses with shipment information and ensure delivery.
Business contact information: Including job title, department, and name of organization. This information is necessary to coordinate shipments and contact you to resolve issues.
Government-issued identification documents: Including driver's license or other required documents to verify your identity, for the purposes of conducting customs business on your behalf.
6. Cookies
Like many other websites, Stord’s website may use "Cookies" or "Other Technologies" (such as "pixel tags," "web beacons," "clear GIFs", links in emails, JavaScript, device IDs assigned by Google or Apple, or similar technologies) to collect information and support certain features of Stord’s website. Cookies and Other Technologies allow Stord and third parties to obtain information about your visits to Stord’s site, including analyzing your visiting patterns. Although you are not required to accept cookies when you visit Stord’s websites, you may be unable to use all of the functionality of Stord’s sites if your browser restricts Stord’s cookies.
Stord uses this information to process your requests and to deliver online and mobile advertisements, messages and content for Stord and others that are specific to your interests. The information Stord collect from your web browser and from Cookies and Other Technologies does not identify you personally but in some cases, Stord may link it to personally identifiable information.
Below Stord explains the different types of cookies that may be used on the site.
Necessary Cookies. Necessary cookies help make a website usable by enabling basic functions like page navigation and access to secure areas of the website. The website cannot function properly without these cookies. Disabling these Cookies may make the services and features unavailable.
Preference Cookies. Preference cookies enable a website to remember information that changes the way the website behaves or looks, like your preferred language or the region you are in. Some Preference cookies are essential to viewing maps or videos on Stord’s website.
Statistics Cookies. Statistics cookies help collect information about your use of the website and enable Stord to improve the way the website works. These cookies give Stord aggregated information that Stord uses to monitor site performance, count page visits, spot technical errors, see how users reach the website, and measure the effectiveness of marketing (including emails).
Marketing Cookies. Marketing cookies are used to show users display advertisements across websites such as those on Facebook, LinkedIn, or other websites. The intention is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and thereby more valuable for publishers and third-party advertisers. Stord does not display ads for any services besides its own.
Unclassified Cookies. Unclassified cookies are cookies that Stord are in the process of classifying, together with the providers of individual cookies.
7. Choice
Stord offers you choices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information. Generally, Stord provides an “opt in” or “opt out” option, depending on applicable law, when you provide contact information through one of Stord’s websites.
Limiting Use and Disclosure of Personal Data
You have the right to limit the use and disclosure of your personal data. Where Stord intends to use your personal data for a purpose materially different from the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by you, or where Stord intends to disclose your personal data to a third party not previously identified, Stord will offer you the opportunity to opt out of such use or disclosure. For sensitive personal information, Stord will obtain your affirmative express consent (opt in) before using or disclosing such information for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized.
Opt-Out of Marketing Communications
Stord includes an “unsubscribe” link in electronic newsletters and promotional emails. You may opt out of receiving marketing communications from Stord at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link or by emailing privacy@stord.com. You may also opt out of Stord communications by emailing privacy@stord.com with the subject line “Opt-Out.”
Timing of Opt-Out
Stord will provide you with clear, conspicuous, and readily available mechanisms to exercise your opt-out rights at any time. Opt-out requests will be processed promptly, and in any event within a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable law.
Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising
You may opt out of behaviorally targeted ads at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies. Additionally, you may opt out of interest-based advertising from some third-party partners by visiting http://preferences-mgr.truste.com/, http://www.youronlinechoices.eu, or the third-party provider’s websites. Opting out will only prevent targeted ads; you may continue to see generic (non-targeted) ads after you opt out.
When accepting the terms of use/end user license agreement for applications software, you must opt in to allow the collection of data from your mobile device in order for the applications software to work properly.
You may opt out of behaviorally targeted ads anytime by clearing your cache of your browser's cookies. Additionally, you may opt-out of interest-based advertising from some third-party partners by visiting http://preferences-mgr.truste.com /, http://www.youronlinechoices.eu, or the third-party provider’s websites. Please note that opting-out will only prevent targeted ads so you may continue to see generic (non-targeted ads) after you opt-out.
Stord may also obtain information from third parties and combine it with information Stord collects through the Stord Services. Stord may have access to certain information from a third-party social media service if you create or log into your online account through the service or otherwise provide Stord with access to information from the service. Any access that Stord may have to such information from a third-party social media service is in accordance with the Privacy Policy and authorization procedures determined by the social media service. Stord protects data obtained from third parties according to the practices described in this notice, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the other sources of the data.
Some browsers offer a “do not track” (“DNT”) option. Since no common industry or legal standard for DNT has been adopted by industry groups, technology companies or regulators, Stord does not respond to DNT signals. Stord will make efforts to continue to monitor developments around DNT browser technology and the implementation of a standard.
8. Data Ownership and Aggregated Information
Stord owns all aggregated, de-identified, anonymized, and derivative data created from or derived from your personal information, usage of the Stord Services, or any other data you provide to Stord. This includes but is not limited to statistical data, trend analyses, performance metrics, operational insights, predictive models, benchmarking data, and any other data products or analytics that Stord creates, compiles, or generates.
Proprietary Data Assets: All aggregated and anonymized data constitutes Stord’s proprietary assets and intellectual property. Stord may use, analyze, modify, distribute, license, and commercialize such data for any lawful business purpose, including but not limited to improving Stord’s services, developing new products and features, conducting research and analytics, creating industry reports, benchmarking studies, marketing materials, and for other commercial activities.
Derivative Data Creation: Stord may create derivative data, analytics, insights, reports, algorithms, models, and other data products from any data collected through the Stord Services. These derivative works are owned exclusively by Stord and may be used without restriction for Stord’s business purposes, including commercial exploitation and licensing to third parties.
Exclusion from Individual Rights: Aggregated, de-identified, anonymized, and derivative data is not considered personal information and is therefore not subject to individual access, deletion, portability, or other data subject rights. Such data cannot be attributed to any specific individual and remains Stord’s property regardless of the source of the underlying data.
Stord Confidential Information: Data, insights, analytics, and other information that constitutes Stord Content under Stord’s customer agreements is Stord’s Confidential Information and proprietary asset. This information is protected by intellectual property rights and contractual confidentiality obligations.
Retention of Data Rights: Stord’s ownership rights in aggregated, anonymized, and derivative data survive termination of your use of the Stord Services and any deletion of your personal information. These data assets remain Stord’s property indefinitely and may continue to be used for Stord’s business purposes.
9. Legal Bases for Processing

10. Information Stord Shares
Information shared with third parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy includes some or all of the personal information Stord collects (as described and listed in this Privacy Policy. Stord does not sell or otherwise disclose personal information Stord collects about you, except as described herein or otherwise disclosed to you at the time the data is collected. Stord shares information to perform activities that you request. Stord may share the personal information Stord collects with Stord’s Affiliates, agents, authorized representatives, or to cooperate with an authorized law enforcement or regulatory investigation. In addition, Stord may share personal information with other third parties with the consent of the individual to whom the information pertains. Stord may also share aggregated or de-identified information from which a natural person cannot be identified by any third party.
11. EU-US Data Privacy Framework & UK Extension Disclosures
Stord relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF) and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF as the legal basis for collecting and processing personal information from the European Union, European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, and complies with the DPF Principles as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Stord has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. DPF Principles with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union and the European Economic Area in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF, and from the United Kingdom (and Gibraltar) in reliance on the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. Stord’s commitment to the DPF Principles applies to all personal data received from the EU, EEA, and UK in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension. If there is any conflict between the terms in this Privacy Policy and the EU-U.S. DPF Principles or the UK Extension, the Principles shall govern. To learn more about the Data Privacy Framework (DPF) program, and to view our certification, please visit https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov.
For EU, EEA, and UK individuals whose data is handled under the EU-U.S. DPF or the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, you may have the right to invoke binding arbitration in certain situations, such as when you submit a complaint that is not resolved after contacting Stord’s privacy team. Stord refers unresolved privacy complaints under the EU-U.S. DPF and UK Extension to JAMS (https://www.jamsadr.com/DPF-Dispute-Resolution) , an alternative dispute resolution provider based in the United States, who will provide relevant dispute resolution services to individuals covered under the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension at no cost. In the event that Stord is unable to resolve your DPF-related privacy complaint, please visit resolution for more details or to submit a complaint.
As part of Stord’s participation in the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, Stord is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for compliance with the data collection, processing, and handling activities subject to the EU-U.S. DPF and UK Extension. Additionally, as part of Stord’s self-certification to the DPF, Stord is liable for onward transfers of covered data to third parties whose privacy practices do not align with the DPF Principles.
12. Service Providers
If you are performing services directly or indirectly for Stord and using an application provided by Stord, then Stord may collect information for the purpose of providing information to Stord’s carriers, warehouses, and customers. Stord may also share your personal information with third-party vendors that perform tasks on Stord’s behalf and under Stord’s instruction. These third-party vendors may use your personal information only in connection with the services they perform on Stord’s behalf. Stord requires such vendors to implement reasonable safeguards for personal information; however, Stord makes no representations or warranties regarding the privacy or security practices of third-party vendors and shall not be responsible or liable for any acts, omissions, or privacy practices of such vendors. On Stord’s website, you may have an opportunity to post user-generated content using social networking tools available on those sites. If you take advantage of this opportunity, remember that the user-generated content you post is available to others who visit the website and therefore you should have no expectation of privacy with respect to such content. In addition, you may choose to use certain features on Stord’s website for which Stord partner with other entities. These features, which may include social networking and geographic location tools, are operated by third parties that are not affiliated with Stord. These third parties may use personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. On sites on which these features are offered, the relevant third parties are identified. Stord strongly suggest you review the third parties’ privacy policies if you use the relevant features.

13. Legal Disclosures
Stord may also disclose information about you when Stord, in good faith, believes disclosure is appropriate to comply with the law, a court order, or a subpoena. Stord may also disclose information about you to prevent or investigate a possible crime, such as fraud or identity theft; to protect the security of Stord’s website ;to enforce or apply Stord’s websites' Terms and Conditions or other agreements; or to protect Stord’s own rights or property or the rights, property or safety of Stord’s users or others. Stord will attempt to notify users about legal demands for their personal data when appropriate in Stord’s judgment, unless prohibited by law or court order or when the request is an emergency. Stord may dispute such demands when Stord believe, in Stord’s discretion, that the requests are overbroad, vague or lack proper authority.
14. Change of Control
Stord also reserves the right to transfer information about you to a successor organization if Stord transfers the ownership or operation of one of Stord’s websites to another organization or if Stord merges with another organization. If such a transfer occurs, Stord will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use personal information you have provided to Stord in a manner consistent with this policy. Following such a sale or transfer, you may contact the entity to which Stord transferred your personal information with any inquiries concerning the processing of that information.
15. Security
Stord takes security seriously and has implemented administrative, physical, and technological measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and Stord cannot guarantee absolute security. Stord shall not be liable for any unauthorized access, data breach, or security incident caused by circumstances beyond Stord’s reasonable control, including but not limited to cyberattacks, malicious code, or acts of third parties. However, this limitation does not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law, including consumer protection laws that may not permit such broad liability disclaimers. 16. Policy Regarding Children
The Stord Services are directed to individuals age 18 and over. Stord does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18 (“Minors" or "Children”). If Stord becomes aware that individuals under the age of 18 have provided personal data to Stord, Stord will take reasonable steps to promptly deactivate the account and delete such personal data in accordance with applicable law, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legal compliance. If you become aware of information from individuals under the age of 18 which has been provided to Stord, please contact Stord at privacy@Stord.com.
17. Promotional and Newsletter Communications
Stord newsletters and marketing emails include the option to opt-out of receiving any further emails. You may also opt-out of receiving specific promotional emails by emailing privacy@Stord.com. Stord may still send non-promotional communications such as security alerts, transactional messages, legally required notices, or communications related to Stord’s ongoing business relationship with you.
18. Community Forums and Blogs
Stord’s website offers publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal data from Stord’s blog or community forums, contact privacy@Stord.com. Please note that Stord may not be able to remove content that has been copied or reposted by third parties, and removal may not be possible in all circumstances, such as where retention is required by law or where the information has been anonymized or aggregated.
19. Testimonials
Stord displays personal testimonials of satisfied customers on Stord’s website in addition to other endorsements. With your prior written consent, Stord may post your testimonial along with your name. You may revoke this consent at any time by contacting privacy@Stord.com, and Stord will remove your testimonial within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days of your request.
20. US Residents
This Section provides information related to the rights of data subjects under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), and other state regulations established under a similar framework. Stord does not “sell” personal information to third parties as defined under the CCPA, VCDPA, CPA, or similar state privacy laws, nor does Stord otherwise provide personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Stord also does not engage in "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under applicable state privacy laws. To exercise your rights under California law or other rights you may have, please contact Stord by emailing privacy@Stord.com or filling out the form linked at the end of this Policy.
Right to Access: You can request more information about the collection, use, and sharing of your personal data, and receive the personal information collected from you in a portable format unless restricted by law or if Stord is unable to verify your identity. Stord will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law, typically within 45 days.
Right to Rectification: You may request to update or correct the personal data Stord maintains for you.
Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data. Stord may ask you for additional information to verify your identity and will process your request subject to and in accordance with applicable law. Please note that Stord may retain certain information wherepermitted or required by law, including for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security purposes, or to complete transactions you have requested. Stord will respond to verified deletion requests within the timeframes required by applicable law, typically within 45 days.
Right to Restriction: You may request the limitation on the processing and sharing of your personal data.
Right to Object: You may object to certain processing of your personal data, and where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Right to Nondiscrimination: You will not be subject to discriminatory treatment for exercising the above privacy rights.
21. EU/EEA and UK Residents
This Section provides information related to the rights of data subjects in the European Union, European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR. For data transfers from the EU/EEA or UK to the United States, Stord relies on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law. To exercise these rights, please contact Stord by emailing privacy@Stord.com or filling out the form linked at the end of this Policy.
Right to Access: You may request more information about the collection, use, and sharing of your personal data, and a copy of your personal information in a portable, commonly used, and machine-readable format. Stord will respond to verified requests within one month, with possible extensions of up to two additional months for complex requests.
Right to Rectification: You may request that Stord update or correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information concerning you.
Right to Restriction: You may request the limitation on the processing and sharing of your personal data.
Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal data. Stord may ask you for additional information to verify your identity and will process your request subject to and in accordance with law.
Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent to process your personal information where you have previously given your consent.
Right to Object: You may also object to the processing of your personal information if the processing is not based on your consent.
Right to Complain: You have the right to complain to a data protection authority about our collection and use of your Personal Information.
22. Personal Data Retention
Stord will retain personal information for no longer than necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy or as required to meet legal requirements. Stord will retain personal data processed on behalf of Stord’s clients as directed by them. Stord may also retain copies of your information for disaster recovery purposes. Notwithstanding the foregoing, aggregated, de-identified, anonymized, and derivative data is not subject to retention limitations or deletion requests and may be retained by Stord indefinitely as part of Stord’s proprietary data assets. Stord’s rights in such data survive any termination of your use of Stord Services or deletion of your personal information.
23. Links to Third Party Websites
Stord may place links on the Stord Services. When you click on a link to a third-party website from Stord’s website, your activity and use on the linked website is governed by that website’s policies, not by those of Stord. Stord encourages you to visit their websites and review their privacy and user policies.
