Meet Jamil, our first operations intern, and learn why he chose STORD and how his work here will leave a lasting impact.
Why did you choose to intern at STORD?
I was first introduced to the complex world of logistics and supply chain in one of my freshman courses at the University of Pennsylvania. Learning about capacity management, inventory control and structured decision-making sparked my interest in the industry and made me want to find a way to learn more about supply chain in the “real world.” So when I came across an article about STORD’s Series A funding and saw the opportunity for an internship, I reached out and the rest is history.
What do you do at STORD?
As an intern on the Operations team, I help monitor and correct inventory exceptions, and I created scorecards for customers and suppliers in order to track KPIs and improve customer/supplier relationships. But I also often have the opportunity to sit in on meetings, shadow other teams, and jump into projects across multiple departments.
What has been your favorite project to work on?
Helping to compile a database of warehouses to speed up the procurement process with Network Services. It’s exciting to know that some of my work here will be used for future machine learning and predictive pricing projects!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I love exploring the city of Atlanta — I’m always trying to find new places to see and new restaurants to try. And I love listening to music; my favorite artists are Playboi Carti, Lil Baby, and Travis Scott.
