STORD’s sales department builds and maintains authentic relationships with prospective customers and logistics providers within STORD’s nationwide network.

Read our profile of Alex, Account Executive, to learn why he chose to build his career at STORD.

What were you working on before joining STORD?

I studied supply chain management in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. Outside of the classroom, I interned at Coyote Logistics. This was my professional introduction to the supply chain world, and it didn’t take long for me to realize that I wanted to pursue a career in the industry.

After graduation, I worked for a transportation company in Atlanta where I was tasked with building my own book of business and handling my customers in a cradle-to-grave model. Working in this type of environment gave me an entrepreneurial itch, so I was ready to take the next step and join a growing startup when I got the chance.

Why did you choose to build your career at STORD?

Since I grew up in Chattanooga, Tenn., surrounded by the transportation and logistics industry, I was really interested in the first Dynamo Accelerator class. When I learned about Sean Henry and Jacob Boudreau’s story, I reached out to them about an opportunity to join their team.

I was immediately attracted to how STORD is changing the way large companies distribute their products. I wanted to be a part of a young, fast-growing organization, but also one that had the technology and potential to make a real difference for modern shippers.

I can’t tell you how many times I explain our technology solution today and hear potential customers say, “Wow, how did something like this not exist before?” or listen to a Fortune 500 company tell me, “You guys really have something that’s cooking.” STORD checked all the boxes for a place I wanted to join.

What is a typical day like at STORD?

A normal day at STORD is high-energy and fast-paced. Our team loves working together and coming up with creative ways to help our customers with warehousing and transportation.

Each day is also a lot of fun. Every department, whether it’s sales, engineering, or operations, tries to create an enjoyable environment to work in.

We work really hard to build an innovative solution for our customers, but we also want to be a great place to work that’s filled with top talent. We’re always looking for ways to make a day in the office more enjoyable and I like being part of that culture.

Please describe your role.

As an Account Executive, I go out and spread the word about our amazing technology and capabilities to shippers. When I speak with supply chain and transportation executives, they always mention how little visibility they have into their inventory and the struggle they go through to maintain their warehousing footprint.

With our network and software platform, we’re able to give our customers exactly what they need to solve their biggest distribution problems.  Our solution alleviates many headaches that shippers face every day.

What has been your favorite project you have worked on?

My favorite part of my time at STORD is seeing our growth firsthand. As an early employee, the fact that we’ve added over 30 members to our team since I started is amazing.

We’ve even had to move to a bigger office space because of all the new hires. I can’t wait to see what STORD looks like a year, five years, and fifteen years from now.

Change is inevitable, but growth is optional, and I really enjoy seeing what we’ve accomplished so far.

What do you like most about your job?

The best part of my job is that it doesn’t feel like a job. Whether I’m welcoming awesome new people to the team, closing a deal, or solving an issue one of our customers is facing, every new day at STORD is exciting.

Everyone comes to the office eager to accomplish their goals and develop new solutions. We also have a lot of collaboration where each team works closely together. Every day is a new opportunity to be great, so we like to attack each one with the same determination and finish the drill.

What would you say to someone considering a career at STORD?

I’d ask, “What’s taking you so long?”

The STORD team is full of energetic, visionary, innovative minds that are dedicated to growing the company and easing the pains that shippers of all sizes experience. We work really hard to maintain a team-over-me culture here.

Come join the fun of changing how traditional warehousing and distribution works. We’re always seeking hungry, creative, and talented people that are ready to come in and hunker down.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I’m a diehard Georgia Bulldog, mostly due to my parents brainwashing me from birth. Most people who know me would probably say I’m super obnoxious about my Dawgs.

I spend September-January traveling around watching the Dawgs play every week, and I spend the other 7 months of the year thinking about Saturdays in Athens.
